Nebraska

Nebraska Children and Families Foundation serves to maximize the potential of Nebraska’s children, youth, and families through collaboration and community-centered impact. We have three key areas of commitment that work to advance Thriving Families, Safer Children initiatives all of which align to our Bring Up Nebraska Statewide Plan.

Key Areas of Commitment via Nebraska Children to Thriving Families, Safer Children are as follows:

  1. Lived Experience: Nebraska Children and Families Foundation has allocated resources to hiring a staff person dedicated to building infrastructure for the support and onboarding of those with lived and learned experience to be present in and compensated for their work alongside us.  There are plans to hire more staff to support the continued inclusion and sustainability of lived experience partners in our work.
  2. Race Equity: Following a critical hire, race equity has been a primary focus for and in organizational policies, practices, and strategy. We have updated our hiring practices, community collaborative accountability practices, and more to be more inclusive and align with actions that push us closer to eliminating racial disparities and improving outcomes for all people.   This has included staff professional development and funding for strategic internal and external interventions as it relates to our work.
  3. Technical Assistance: We’ve expanded our team of technical assistance experts to include dedicated staff, lived experience partners, and consultants providing technical assistance to community collaboratives. By doing so, we are helping to bridge the gap, provide resources, and better represent their needs and experiences.
