CDC Funding for Preventing Adverse Childhood Experiences

September 2023

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has launched a funded program focused on preventing adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and promoting positive childhood experiences (PCEs). Although this effort is not related directly to TFSC, it shares a common focus on improving child and family well-being. Several funding recipients are also Thriving Families, Safer Children sites and we look forward to helping broker introductions between local teams.

TFSC Equitable Compensation Task Force Report

June 2023

At the urging of participants in the TFSC Lived Experience Roundtables who have experienced the impact of inconsistent compensation practices, and at the request of TFSC sites that are seeking guidance on best practices, the TFSC Executive Team commissioned an Equitable Compensation Taskforce comprised of LEx leaders to produce this report. It addresses conditions for successful partnership, compensation formulas, models for issuing compensation, and pathways to financial sustainability.

KIDS COUNT Data Book 2023 by the Annie E. Casey Foundation

June 2023

Produced annually, this resource from the Annie E. Casey Foundation presents national and state data across four domains — economic well-being, education, health and family and community — and ranks states in overall child well-being. It is a valuable source of disaggregated data and information about the current state of child welfare and also includes recommendations to improve child care in the United States.
